“It was a brilliant opportunity to connect, learn, and explore what responsible and innovative AI adoption can look like for our region and beyond.”
Almost 100 people from organisations across South Yorkshire and both Sheffield universities gathered to learn more about AI, its practical uses and the importance of using it ethically and sustainably.
The event saw three workshops on various aspects of AI delivered to help local organisations better understand and navigate the increasingly important technology. You can view/ download the slides from each session below:
Demystifying AI: Led by Professor James Marshall, Director of the Centre for Machine Intelligence, University of Sheffield with Dr Dennis Newman-Griffis and Dr Sean Anderson
Using AI to innovate and advance your business: Led by Duncan Payne, Head of Software Engineering at Zoo Digital.
Ethics and sustainability: Led by Dr Alejandro Jimenez Rodriguez, Senior lecturer in Artificial Intelligence and Robotics, Sheffield Hallam University with Dr Yasir Javed.
As well as the three workshops, there was ample opportunities for guests to connect and explore potential new collaborations with both Sheffield universities.
The Innovation Network team would like to say a big thank you to our experts for sharing their time and expertise so generously. A special thank you also to Sheffield Chamber of Commerce’s Louisa Harrison-Walker and Mel Kanarek from Sheffield Digital for opening and closing the event with a few words about what AI means for the region.
