The University of Sheffield Management School invites you to participate in the below survey.

Introduction

The University of Sheffield Management School, in collaboration with the University of Texas-Tyler, USA, is undertaking a market research study relating to the use of innovative behavioural approaches to cyber risk mitigation. We seek your participation in this crucial study, considering the significant impact that such attacks can have on operations, reputation and customer safety for businesses.

What’s the study about?

The purpose of the study is to assess market interest in a novel design of cybersecurity training, promoting a high degree of behavioral compliance with anti-phishing policies. This follows the menace of ransomware attacks (usually enabled by phishing attacks) and the need for improved awareness and training beyond traditional technology solutions, addressing only one component of cyber defence.

Why is it useful/beneficial to participate?

The benefit of participating in the survey is potential for reducing successful phishing attacks, thereby mitigating operational and strategic risks associated. Such mitigation would provide an effective response to insurance underwriters’ heightened reluctance to underwrite cybersecurity risks, as well as derive significant cost-benefits to business continuity planning. For those who advise operators (e.g., systems integrators), this is attractive because of its potential for winning client engagements for the design and deployment of systems for behavioral cybersecurity training and related performance support.

How will this data be used?

Data will be used to evaluate the market potential for utilisation or adoption of a novel design to significantly enhance the effectiveness of anti-phishing training. The analysis will aid in supporting industry-led efforts to improve and mitigate risk associated with cyber attacks and allow for more resilient responses by staff and organisations.

We plan to disseminate the survey results and participants will have an opportunity to gain initial insights from prototype field-testing. The value of such a training system can be mass-customised to businesses’ needs for more-effective anti-phishing training.

We thank you in advance for your participation.
